R.I.'s Fishers In-Person

Learn about the Rhode Island Fisher Study, a research project to understand how fishers (commonly called ‘fisher cats’ ) travel throughout R.I. with Laken Ganoe, DEM Furbearer Biologist.

Using a combination of camera traps and GPS collars, Ganoe monitored fisher distributions and movements across the state. Field work is now concluded, and Ganoe is presenting the analyses.

In addition, fisher pelts, skulls, and a mounted, taxidermied fisher will be on display.

Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend. Registration is not required, but if you'd like a friendly reminder email 2 days before the program, register using the button below, email JCoppa@CoventryLibrary.org, or call Jessica at 401-822-9104.

A collaboration of the Coventry Land Trust and the Coventry Public Library.
